Meet The Face Behind Paws & Play

Hi, I’m Jessica, and I’m passionate about providing exceptional care for your pets! My journey into pet sitting and dog walking began after an 8-year career in marketing as an account strategist at various agencies. While I enjoyed the fast-paced environment, I realized my true passion was working with animals.

In 2020, I moved to Chelmsford and began pet sitting on the side through Rover. That experience quickly grew into something more when I started working for a friend as a dog walker, which inspired me to branch out and launch my own business.

Along the way, I’ve been committed to growing my skills and knowledge in the field of pet care. I currently work part-time at a local doggie daycare, where I’ve gained valuable insights into dog body language and behavior—skills I apply every day to ensure pets are safe, happy, and comfortable under my care. I’m also undergoing formal schooling and receiving hands-on experience to become a certified dog trainer, furthering my ability to help pets and their families build stronger relationships. Additionally, I’ve completed hands-on training to become certified in canine first aid and CPR, giving me the tools to respond confidently in emergencies and prioritize your pet’s safety.

My love for dogs extends beyond walking and sitting. In 2022, I began training in agility and started competing in 2023. With my two Shelties, Jax and June, I’ve earned several titles and awards in agility, fitness, and obedience through AKC and other venues like USDAA, UKI and CPE. Agility training has taught me so much about the bond between pets and their people, as well as the importance of trust, communication, and patience.

Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, personalized care while you’re away, or extra enrichment to keep your pets happy, I’m here to treat your furry family members like my own!
