Short version: I collect what I need to answer you and take care of your pet. I don't sell it, and I only share it with the people and services that help me run the business.

This site is run by Paws and Play LLC, in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Where this page says "I", that's Jess.

What I collect

If you fill in the contact form, I get whatever you type: your name, your phone number or email, your town, and what you tell me about your pet. If you book a consultation, the scheduler collects what it needs to put the appointment on my calendar and send you a confirmation.

Like most websites, this one uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits: which pages, what kind of device, and roughly what town or region. It tells me whether the site is working. It doesn't give me your name.

Why I collect it

To answer you, to schedule and provide the service you asked about, and to keep records of clients and their pets. That's it. I don't send marketing email, and I don't build advertising profiles.

Who else sees it

A few people and services that help me run the business, and only for that purpose:

My care providers. If you use walks, drop-ins or pet sitting, the sitter covering your visit sees your address, entry instructions and your pet's needs
Gmail is where form messages and emails to me land
Formspree receives what you type into the pet-care form on the Contact page and passes it to me
Acuity Scheduling runs the booking calendar on the Contact page and collects what it needs to book and confirm your appointment
Pet Pocketbook is the client portal where existing clients request visits and pay. You only deal with it if you use the Client login link
Cloudflare hosts this site and serves its pages to you
Google supplies the fonts this site uses, and runs Google Analytics, the traffic counter described above

Card payments go through the booking and client-portal systems' payment processors. I never see or keep your full card number, so please don't send card numbers by text, email or the contact form.

I don't sell your information, and I don't give it to anyone for their own marketing.

Analytics is on. If you'd rather not be counted, Google offers a free browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off for you: Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Texts

If you text me or book, I'll text you about your appointments. I may occasionally text about other things too. If you'd rather not get those, tell me and I'll stop.

How long I keep it

Client records stay as long as you're a client and for a few years afterward, mostly for taxes and insurance. If you'd like yours deleted, ask and I'll delete everything I'm not required to keep.

Photos of your pet

I take photos during visits and send them to you. I only post a photo of your pet publicly — on this site or on social media — if you've told me it's okay. I won't post anything that shows your house number, your street, or anyone in your family, and I turn location tags off. If you'd like a photo taken down, tell me and it comes down.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging care for their pets. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Keeping it safe

Client information lives in password-protected accounts, and entry codes and keys go only to the sitter covering your visit. No system is perfect; if your information is ever exposed, I'll tell you.

Asking about your information

You can ask what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it (except what I'm required to keep). Call or text 978-226-8592, or email jessica.pawsandplay@gmail.com.

Changes

If I change this page, I'll update the date at the top.
